After leaving Ayodhya, she took refuge in Maharishi Valmiki's ashram. Luv and Kush were born in Maharishi Valmiki's ashram. Maharishi Valmiki was the hand behind the mastery of various arts, from the education and writing of Luv and Kush. All the characters of Ramayana follow their religion. A person can make his life meaningful by learning from the characters of Ramayana.

जिस तरह राजा राम भगवान् विष्णु के अवतार थे वैसे ही उनके तीनो भाई लक्ष्मण को शेषनाग का अवतार माना जाता है जो क्षीरसागर में भगवान विष्णु का आसन हैl जबकि भरत और शत्रुघ्न को क्रमशः भगवान विष्णु द्धारा हाथों में धारण किए गए सुदर्शन-चक्र और शंख-शैल का अवतार माना जाता हैl रामायण के ये तीनों पात्रों की कहानी से हमें यही पता चलता है की उनका एक दुसरे पर विश्वास और एक दुसरे के प्रति प्रेम और आदर ही उनके रिश्तों को महान और अटूट बनाता है। Just as King Rama was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, his three brothers Lakshmana is considered to be the incarnation of Sheshnag which is the seat of Lord Vishnu in the ocean. While Bharata and Shatrughna are believed to be the incarnation of Sudarshan-chakra and shell held in the hands of Lord Vishnu respectively. From the story of these three characters of Ramayana, what we find is that their faith and love and respect for each other makes their relationship great and unbreakable.
