This week, we have Sophia, the founder of the organization, I Am Not A Statistic. This non-profit works with Angel House to provide orphanages and school systems in India. The goal of the organization is to get and keep kids off of the streets where they could potentially be in danger and/or poverty to provide a safe environment and education. Sophia is a great example of someone who was passionate about changing the world and is doing it, one orphanage at a time! We can all learn from her ambition and go for what we believe in! We have been waiting to be able to release this collaborative episode featuring the ultra woke girls over at Chuski Pop. Meet Sweety and Pappu. Two Desi chicks riding the fourth wave of feminism in their salwar kameez and golden heels, while flipping birds to aunties and bringing you stories from far-away lands and from our own matru-bhumi. Tune in to their podcast every second Saturday to hear us share our adventures, staying woke and generally not going gentle into the night. And oh, they love rainbows, glitter stickers, cats, man buns, dudes with impressive facial foliage, and would wait for an eternity if that meant that they could finally make ‘fetch’ happen. Not sure if you like us yet? Bish, they are like your BFFs here! Listen to them on Soundcloud, iTunes and Stitcher. Go follow them on all social media & check out their AMAZING artwork!

THANK YOU to Leo Kalyan for this episode's dreamy music. You can find him online at www.leokalyan.com & Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Tumblr. Listen to his music on Soundcloud, Spotify & Apple Music. Go buy his latest EP Outside In. It is seriously incredible. You'll thank us later.

As always shoutouts to Brown Girl Mag for their support. Check them out at www.browngirlmag.com. They have an amazing staff of writers over there, they cover every topic you could dream of. They are also on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Snapchat.

On this week's episode we talk to the incredibly inspiring, intelligent & strong Alexa Rahman. She tells her full story, on her terms, for the first time ever. We are truly floored by the power in which Alexa took her life back after being in an abusive relationship & to see her fight back against Domestic Violence with complete relentlessness.

It's time we start teaching kids about the realities of love, dating & sexual assault in every form. If we are teaching them sexual education & about birth control, we need to be having a real discussion about pregnancy, assault, domestic violence & what a healthy relationship actually looks like.

One in 5 women and one in 71 men will be raped in their lifetime. It's time to start educating people early on that sex should always be consensual and rape is NEVER acceptable. We cannot continue to allow people to get their knowledge from TV, movies or porn anymore. On this week's episode of Chai Tea Party, we open up the uncomfortable conversation about the inadmissible act of rape.

Ignorance is not bliss and silence is not an option.
